Actually, it really started hungover the next day. After celebrating hard at our friends’ wedding in Los Angeles in March 2019, we found ourselves sitting next to each other at the farewell brunch. We started chatting over our bagels and cream cheese and there was instant chemistry. Justin mentioned he was in town for the next two weeks, Morgan offered to be an LA tour guide, and we exchanged numbers and made plans to meet up later in the week.

After a bit of a delay due to a dog bite to Justin’s hand, we finally met for coffee at Alfred’s. A long coffee date turned into drinks later in the week. Drinks turned into movies the next night, and before we knew it, Justin was packing up to head back to Sydney. But (obviously) that wasn’t the end to our story.

After getting to know each other while across the world through a year of WhatsApps and FaceTimes, and two quick trips down under, Morgan moved to Sydney just four days before the borders closed in March 2020. Two weeks in isolation together proved that this was meant to be, and the rest was history!

Fast forward through the next two years filled with COVID lockdowns, two of the best doggies (our boys, Murphy and Alfie), a short stint in the mafia capital of Australia (Griffith), and lots of zooms with family and friends due to Australia’s closed borders — we finally found ourselves back in Los Angeles in October 2021. With some help, Justin pulled off an epic proposal.

He popped the question at Alfred’s - the same spot where we had our first date - and you can guess what Morgan’s answer was.
